Romney doesn’t understand why you can’t roll down windows on a plane. He says ”It’s a real problem.”
“When you have a fire in an aircraft, there’s no place to go, exactly,” he told the LA Times. “And you can’t find any oxygen from outside the aircraft to get in the aircraft, because the windows don’t open. I don’t know why they don’t do that. It’s a real problem.”
And from “You need to Understand some Basic Fire Science!” (appropriate);
Fire needs oxygen, fuel, and heat to burn. To prevent fire, you need to eliminate or reduce the availability of these ingredients. Since oxygen can’t be easily eliminated (it is always present in the air), the focus of fire prevention is on fuel and heat sources.
Now, what would super duper cold air at 30,000 feet do to a fire, if anything besides help it burn? Mitt Romney wants to know!
